My Mac Desktop

December 23, 2007

mac_desktop.jpgI thought it would be cool to post a screenshot of my desktop.  This is just the beginning of its change.  What do you think?  Also, if you have screenshots of your desktop, I would like to see them.  Post a link to your screenshot in the comments section to showoff your desktop. Furthermore, you can check out my Flickr page for a bigger screenshot

Keyboard Issue with Leopard - Fixed

December 18, 2007

When I purchased my Mac, I started noticing that my keyboard would freeze for a long period of time after coming out of sleep. For a quick fix, I just rebooted the computer. Great news, today, Apple came out with an update for the infamous keyboard freeze for Macbook and Macbook Pro.

My Idea for a New App

December 16, 2007

I know that this is a stretch, but I would love it if someone could develop an application that allows you to scan documents to your computer using the iSight camera on the Mac. Then I would not have to hook up my computer to the printer every time I needed to scan a document. What do you think?

Apps I use

December 14, 2007

applications.jpgBelow is a list of alien applications that I use on my Mac, a description of them, and why I use them.

Textwrangler - TextWrangler is the powerful general purpose text editor, and Unix and server administrator’s tool. (Since I am a freelance web developer and designer, I needed an editor that could do it all and not just an HTML editor.) Read more

Instant Magnification

December 13, 2007

I just discovered something cool this morning, however, you might already know this. If you have scrolling enabled for your trackpad, just position your cursor to anything on your screen (i.e. a word or app), hold down the control key while moving your fingers up and down on the trackpad, and voila, instant magnification.

InstantGallery

December 12, 2007

Were you one of the ones who foamed at the mouth at the possibility of using the iLife app in order to create a nice HTML online gallery, use beautiful templates, upload podcasts, and all that this app had to offer without paying the .Mac price?  I think I might have found a wonderful alternative to .Mac.  Especially if you have your own website or server.

Backup Your Cell Phone

December 12, 2007

cell.jpgIn late October, I went on a business trip to good ‘ol Texas. My first day in Texas, I lost my cell phone. I was devastated, for I had never, ever lost a cell phone. Also, I realized that I could not call anyone because I did not know anyone’s number. Before I purchased my Macbook, I purchased the iPod Classic with 80gb a month earlier. For me, it was only good for music. Yes, it has a lot of other cool features, but I was sure that they were no good to me. It wasn’t until I purchased my Mac that I was proven wrong. Read more

You Are the Apple of My Eye

December 12, 2007

macbook.JPGAbout a few weeks ago, I decided to purchase my first Mac. I purchased the 120gb, white macbook. I was a little skeptical, but I wanted something that works. Each pc that I had only lasted a year or two because it was sooooo cheap. So, I wanted something that works. My roommate had his mac for six years. If a computer lasts that long, then I wanted it. I must say, that even though Leopard may have some bugs that need worked out, I am so in love with my Macbook. Now that I am a mac convert, I look forward to blogging about my mac experience, Apple updates, as well as tips, tricks, and tools I use. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
